I would like to put a new product on the market. Do you help me with that? No. We are specialized in inventing, designing and developing of products, and we really like to help you with that. But the marketing part and distribution of the product is your own responsibility.
I want to have a product manufactured. Could you help me with that? Sometimes. Our strenght is in designing products and making them ready for production, but sometimes we organize production as well for our customers, especially the first series, so that we can control and check the quality.
I have a design that is partly finished, could you use that? This question is asked on a regular basis. It strongly depends on the quality of the design whether we decide to use it as a basis. Do you work for small companies as well? Yes, we both work for larger and small companies.
What does a process of product development cost? You will understand that such question can not be answered here. We need to discuss the project with you and find out how complex the product is that needs to be designed. Based on that first conversation we build an action plan and a cost calculation, so that we can offer you a good proposal.
What are the main competences of Bluelarix Designworks? Bluelarix Designworks designs and develops new products for her clients and helps companies to innovate with better and more user friendly design.
How does Bluelarix Designworks differ from other design studio's? For us the human factor is leading. We always observe the user, do some user research and have a psychologist on the pay roll. In this way we design products that mean an improvement for the user in terms of ergonomics, interaction, user friendliness, and therefore also for the image of your company.
In which industries are you working? We work for many different companies and industries. We designed for instance products for companies in the paper industry, consumer electronics, medical and care, tools, kitchen appliances, sport, building construction, etc.
How does the cooperation with Bluelarix Designworks work? We are partners in the design process. It is all about sharing information and plans with each other. We do our utmost to come to a good design, but we need your company experience and data in order to realize that. We communicate every week with a detailed overview and status of the project, so that you could follow and interact. Apart from that we often call and meet at moments of decision.
How does the way your work look like? We always start with an introduction meeting where we discuss your plans and wishes, using a form with many questions, so that we could form ourselves a clear picture of your needs. Based on that we build a proposal document. We always split the design process in several parts. You will therefore only sign first for the first part, the analyses and concept design part of the project. Ofcourse you will already then receive from us an estimate of the costs for the rest of the project.
If the concept design part has been finished successfully and the best concept has been choosen, then we make a second proposal document for the development of the product and prototyping. Experience shows that this is the best way of working, so that we both can manage the project properly and take risks step by step.
What is the lead time for the development of a product? That depends very much again on the complexity of the product. A simple product can be designed in two or three months, a complex product with electronics and software will take more time.
How are your processes managed? A design process is devided in at least 6 stages. Every stage has validations, the result of the stage is checked according to our protocol forms on several points, so that the design answers the specifications and requests.
What international experience does Bluelarix Designworks have? We mostly work with Dutch companies, but have experience as well with working with clients in and outside the European Union.
