Industrial design should contribute to positive change in people's lives. Are you looking for a design partner that creates products with a powerful story?

Explore our industrial design services

We believe we can help your business making money with new high-quality products that make a positive contribution in the lives of people.
Like we helped our clients Philips, SMF Potok and Zeleritaz Racing Sports to create activity monitors, medical bio-inactivation air treatment systems and award winning inline skate wheels.

What we offer

You could partner with us building for instance only a design strategy for your project or running only a process of ergonomic system design.

You could also involve us in large parts of your design and product development projects, from the very early stages of design strategy and concept design, till full support on development, engineering, prototyping, testing and preparing for manufacturing.

insight, design strategy, meaning, design approach

Design Strategy

We thoroughly study the core meaning, users, use applications and design styling for a new solution or product, using research and creative tools, leading to a solid design strategy document.
system design

System Design

Products require a solid system design, with selection of the right components and testing functionality in the very beginning to make sure that all works well, both functionally and ergonomically.
concept design, sketching, new concepts

Concept Design

Hand sketching, creating quick mockups, testing on users and in our team, digital sketching and high quality automotive 3D surface modelling form the core of our concept designs.
interaction design, interface design

Interaction Design

Parallel with the concept design, our team creates interaction schemes, works on usability & ergonomics and designs interfaces.
product engineering, 3D CAD engineering, product development

Product Engineering

Functionality and quality are absolutely crucial to create good products, therefore we offer high-end product engineering, with CAD surface modeling, FEM analyses, Design for Manufacturing, prototype testing according to safety norms and support with certifications.
prototyping, testing, interations

Prototyping & Iterations

Prototyping and testing is a continuous process during a design project to check usability and user friendliness. When shape, functionality and interaction are good, the files are ready for final engineering optimizations at a manufacturing company.
transport design, construction equipment design, agricultural machine design, train design, tram design

Commercial Vehicle Design

We design and develop commercial vehicles, new interior and exterior parts for construction machines, agricultural machines, trains and trams with Class A surface modeling, high level of ergonomics and innovative new solutions.
medical design, medical engineering

Medical Design

We design and develop semi-medical and medical devices, personal health devices, products for elderly care and rehabilitation, including support in the field of medical certifications.

Starting with a strategy

A solid strategy helps both us and our clients tremendously to direct the concept design stage and come quicker to valuable product concepts.

Core Meaning

We use a set of 15 culture independent core meanings. These meanings appear to be universal among people’s values. While the relative importance of these meaningful experiences might vary and their interpretation could differ slightly, all cultures seem to recognize their significance. This means that there is a certain consistency among human needs that transcends the distinctions of culture and language.

In team discussions we select one or two core meanings that best fit the product. We use these generally accepted meanings to describe the relationship between the user and the product: which meaning will the product fulfill in the user’s life. After selecting the core meanings, we translate them into shapes, materials, colors and textures.

Transforming the strategy into shapes, materials and textures

Concept design is at the core of our process of industrial design. It consists mainly of hand sketching and creating mockups.

The beginning of Concept Design

We use the design strategy conclusions as a start for the concept design. We hang the defined shapes, colors and appearances on our sketching wall to get started.

For every project we create a small team of 3 or 4 designers that start hand-sketching, creating hundreds of small sketches. They evaluate the sketches continuously on ergonomics, shape, fit into the strategy, technical solution, manufacturability and other factors. Some of the promising sketches are translated into dozens of foam mockups, to evaluate the shape in 3D.

During this process we will offer you a 'look in the kitchen' session, where we will discuss with you the raw sketches and advise on what we believe is the most promising direction.

Iterations, coming to the right forms, interaction and functionality

Making many mockups helps to refine the shape, step by step improving the product concept till everything is in balance and ready for further development.

Mockups during concept design

We are used to build many mockups during concept design. In some cases these mockups are made of foam, sometimes from wood, 3D printed material, or other materials.

These quickly made mockups help us to evaluate functionality and shapes, understand proportions in more realistic environment then with sketches, and helps us to run ergonomic testing.

In other cases we want to test mechanical or electronic solutions in a very early stage with users. Then we have some CNC milled aluminum parts made that are rough but still functional and good enough to evaluate 6 or 7 variations with users.
